The Adoption/Permanency Panel considers and makes recommendations about plans for children where adoption, long-term fostering or other permanent placements outside their birth family are being considered.  The panel also considers the suitability of prospective adopters, makes recommendations about adoptive applicants’ suitability to adopt and matching individual children with adoptive parents and long-term foster carers.  The panel’s recommendation and that of the Agency Decision Maker must be taken into account by the Agency when making its decision in regard to each individual child. Cases for post-adoption support are also considered (i.e. whether financial, therapeutic, etc support would be necessary)
