Report on the First Review of the Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent Joint Waste Local Plan (2010 - 2026)

This is the first Statutory 5-Year Review of our Joint Waste Local Plan and provides an assessment of how well our waste planning policies have been performing and explains how we have reached the conclusion that the Plan does not need to be revised at this time. The Regulations require us to publish the reasons for this decision. Cabinet and Full Council are therefore recommended to accept the conclusions and to endorse the Plan for the period 2018 – 2023*. (*Note the same recommendation is being taken to Members at Stoke-on-Trent City Council). A second review of the Waste Local Plan will be required before March 2023 (i.e. 10 years from adoption), unless an earlier review is deemed necessary.
