Review of Business Case for the Development of Council Owned Older People's Nursing Homes

Prior to the pandemic Cabinet took the decision in September 2019 to approve the development of two new Council owned nursing care homes, one in Stafford and one in South Staffordshire providing at least 120 additional care home placements. Due to the significant impact the pandemic has had on the care home marketplace and the government’s intentions from the social care white paper the Council will re-evaluate the need for additional nursing capacity and review the initial decision made in 2019 to determine whether to proceed.
