Uttoxeter Road, Blythe Bridge (Forsbrook Parish)

Upgrade the surface of the Pavements from Blythe Bridge railway station along Uttoxeter Road (both sides) to their junction with the A521

The Parish Council along with several residents have continually reported the state of the pavements on Uttoxeter Road Blythe Bridge. Several members of the public have fallen due to the state of them. Due to the Blythe Fields development the increase in traffic on the road is substantial, especially HGV. Members of the public can not walk on the pavements without fear of tripping into the road. When the traffic is particularly bad the pavements are continually mounted by vehicles. Vehicles are regularly parked on the pavements.

Council response

I refer to the petition regarding the request for the Uttoxeter Road, Blythe Bridge footway maintenance. I can advise you that receipt of the petition will be reported to Councillor Ross Ward.

A section of Uttoxeter Road, Blythe Bridge is due to receive footway resurfacing as well as patch repairs to prepare for future footway slurry seal work in addition to structural repairs to the carriageway, kerbing works and drainage works where identified, this site having been identified as part of a Council programme where we focus on improving gateway sites across Staffordshire with additional investment. The scheme has a current start date of 21 November but this may change as the design and investigations progress.

If you remain concerned over any localised individual road defect or repairs undertaken, these can be reported using the 'Report it' pages on our website at http://www.staffordshire.gov.uk or by using the My Staffs App.
