The Health and Care Overview and Scrutiny Committee is responsible
for scrutiny of matters relating to the planning, provision and
operation of health services in the Authority's area, including
public health, in accordance with regulations made under the Health
and Social Care Act 2001 and subsequent guidance.
The Health and Care Overview and Scrutiny Committee has the power
to make reports and recommendations to NHS bodies conferred by the
Health and Social Care Act 2001 and may, respond independently to
health related consultations from
Government and external agencies.
The Committee will take the lead in scrutinising the work of the
Health and Wellbeing Board and developing a working relationship to
enable this to be undertaken effectively and constructively.
