Minutes:

The Director of Finance and Resources updated Members with regard to the recruitment of a Trade Union representative to serve on the Board following the resignation of Susan Lees.  They were informed that a letter had been sent to the regional offices of the Trade Unions representing members of the Fund inviting their nominations but, to date, no nominations had been forthcoming.  It was therefore intended that an approach would be made to Staffordshire Unison to enquire as to whether they wished to submit a nomination.

 

RESOLVED – That the minutes of the meeting held on 21 October 2016 be confirmed and signed by the Chairman.

Data Protection - Training

Minutes:

The Board received a presentation from Lian Stubbs from the County Council’s Information Governance Unit in relation to Data Protection.  The presentation covered a range of matters including:

 

·         The role of the ICO

·         The scope of the Data Protection Act

·         The rights of the Individual

·         The Freedom of Information Act

·         Common Exceptions

·         Data Breaches

·         What happens if things go wrong

 

RESOLVED – That Ms. Stubbs be thanked for her presentation.
