The County Council is considering reducing spending on school crossing patrols in the future to save £540,000 per annum. We do not think that a reliance on volunteers to deliver this service is appropriate and indicates that the County Council is putting a price on children's lives.

I refer to the petition, signed by residents regarding school crossing patrols and I can advise you that receipt of the petition will be reported to Cllr Helen Fisher, Cabinet Member for Highways & Transport.
Please note that the public consultation regarding the service
review has now closed and the results will be available from the
end of February 2019. The answer to a number of “frequently
asked questions” regarding the review are accessible via this
