Proposals were submitted to lease the site of Manor Hill First School, Stone to the Academy Trust for a 125 year period at a peppercorn rental in line with the expectations of the Department for Education for those schools converting to academy status.

RESOLVED – That approval be given to the grant of a 125 year lease, at a peppercorn rental for the site of Manor Hill First School, Stone.

The Sub-Committee considered a request to renew the lease of Tutbury Youth Centre to Tutbury Old School Community Association Limited for a further 10 year period at a peppercorn rental.  The estimated value of the property was reported along with details of the current use by the community and a Business Plan for its ongoing maintenance and management.

 

Members discussed the potential merits of the inclusion of a break clause in the terms of new Lease.

 

As the local member for the area, Mr P White reported on the valuable community work being carried out at the Centre.

 

RESOLVED – That approval in principle be given to the renewal of the lease to the Tutbury Old School Community Association Limited for a further 10 year period at undervalue for a peppercorn rental; the final Terms of the Lease to be approved by the Head of Property.

Former Rugeley Youth Centre - Proposed Sale (exemption paragraph 3)

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee considered an offer received for the purchase of the Former Rugeley Youth Centre by its current Lessees, Rugeley Community Church Limited.

 

The local member for the area, Mr Dudson,  attended the meeting and reported on the valuable contribution which the Centre and the Lessees made to the well being of the community.

 

RESOLVED – That approval b given to the sale of the Former Rugeley Youth Centre to the Rugeley Community Church Limited on the Terms outlined in the report.

 

To avoid any delay in the transaction, the Chairman agreed to the following item being dealt with as Urgent.

Leek County Services Building, Fountain Street, Leek - Proposed Sale (exemption paragraph 3)

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee were informed that following the withdrawal of a previous offer for the Leek County Services Building, the property had been remarketed and a new offer received.

 

RESOLVED – That approval be given to the sale of the Leek County Services Building to PAJ  Property Agency Limited in accordance with their offer.
