The Sub-Committee considered proposals to grant leases for the sites of three Academies throughout the County, each for a 125 year period and at a peppercorn rental in line with the expectations of the Department for Education for those schools converting to Academy status.

 

RESOLVED – That approval be given to the granting of 125 year leases, at a peppercorn rental, for each of the three sites listed in the Schedule to the report.

Former Codsall Area Office/Day Centre, Histons Hill Codsall - Proposed extension of Longstop Date (exemption paragraph 3)

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee had previously approved the sale of the former Codsall Area Office/Day Centre at Histons Hill, Codsall subject to planning permission being obtained by31 October 2018.  Members considered a request by officers for an extension of that conditional deadline.

 

RESOLVED – That approval be given to the extension of the longstop date as indicated in the report.

79.

Former Brewood Youth Centre - Proposed Sale (exemption paragraph 3)

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee considered a previous decision approving the sale of the Former Brewood Youth Centre and subsequent requests for the preservation of public access to a footpath crossing the site. Proposed Terms of sale which preserved the public  rights over the site were submitted.

 

RESOLVED – That the property be sold to the Trustees of the 2nd Brewood Scout Group on the Terms indicated.

Former Flash C of E Primary School, Quarnford, Buxton - Proposed Sale (exemption paragraph 3)

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee received details of an unconditional offer received for the Former Flash C of E Primary School, Quarnford, Buxton.

 

RESOLVED – That the property be sold to Mr and Mrs Rack of Stoke-on-Trent in accordance with their offer.

81.

Cherry Close Burntwood - Former Youth Services Building and Grounds - Termination of Lease (exemption paragraph 3)

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee were informed of the wish of the current lessees of the former Youth Services Building and Grounds at Cherry Close, Burntwood to surrender early the lease on the premises.  Members were informed of the need to consider both the immediate and longer term options for the use of the building and its potential role in fulfilling strategic proposals for service delivery by and with other agencies. The costs to the County Council of the vacated building were detailed.

 

RESOLVED – That:

(a)  Approval be given to surrender of the lease by Cherry Orchard Gardening Service Community Interest Organisation  on 9 November 2018;

(b)  The work to secure a new tenant and the intention to submit a report to a future meeting on longer term options for the premises be noted.
