RESOLVED - That the minutes of the meeting held on 6 June 2018 be confirmed and signed by the Chairman.

The Sub-Committee considered a report proposing the granting of leases for the sites of five Academies throughout the County, each for a 125 year period and at a peppercorn rental in line with the expectations of the Department for Education for those schools converting to Academy status.

 

RESOLVED – That approval be given to the granting of 125 year leases, at a peppercorn rental, for each of the five sites listed in the Schedule to the report.

RESOLVED – That the public be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business which involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in the paragraph of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 indicated.

57.

Former County Grounds Services Depot, Cannock Road and Former Playingfields, Girton Road, Cannock - Proposed Sale (exemption paragraph 3)

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee had previously approved the joint sale of the former playingfield at Girton Road/Spring Street Cannock and the former County Grounds Services Depot, Cannock Road, Blackfords, Cannock to D and G Properties Limited (6/6/18 – clause 51).

The Sub-Committee were informed that subsequent to their decision, a significantly higher offer had been received for the County Grounds Services Depot site from Restful Homes Group. Details were given of discussions held with both parties.

 

RESOLVED – That:

(i) the County Council withdraw from the disposal of both sites to D and G Properties Limited

(ii) approval be given to the disposal of the former County Grounds Services Depot to Restful Homes Group on the terms indicated; in the event of such disposal not proceeding the site be sold to D and G Properties Limited in accordance with their offer.

(iii) approval be given to the disposal of the former playingfield at Girton Road/Spring Street Cannock to D and G Properties Limited on the terms indicated.

Bailey Street/Friars Walk Building, 1A Bailey Street Stafford - Proposed sale (exemption paragraph 3)

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee were informed that the prospective purchaser of the property at Bailey Street/Friars Walk, 1A Bailey Street, Stafford had withdrawn from the purchase and consequently the site had been remarketed with an offer received from Stafford Cabling (IP4 Limited).

 

RESOLVED – That approval be given to the sale of the site to Stafford Cabling (IP4 Limited) on the terms indicated.

Leek County Services Building, Fountain Street, Leek - Proposed Sale (exemption paragraph 3)

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee received details of informal offers received for the Leek County Services Building, Fountain Street, Leek and considered the potential practical and financial consequences for the Authority of the various bids received for the site.

(NB A revised report was tabled at the meeting, correcting errors in the values of the bids reported in the original report)

 

RESOLVED – That approval be given to the sale of the Leek County Services Building to Dr G Balliu, Dr R Durber, Dr M Williams, Maria Malkin and Samantha Brown (Leek Health Centre) on the Terms indicated.
