Cabinet are asked to grant approval to publish a Statutory Proposal to provide additional capacity at St Stephen’s Primary School for 105 additional children that will be generated from new housing in Fradley.

Mark Sutton

“Increasingly our schools are becoming self- supporting, controlling their own destiny and forming strong partnerships and networks. St Stephen’s Primary School is rated by OFSTED as ‘Good’ and with new housing proposed for Fradley, it is important we ensure there are enough primary school places available.  By enlarging St Stephen’s, we can ensure local children still have the opportunity to attend a good, local school.”

Mark Sutton, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People

Every child deserves a good education and we want all our schools to be rated as ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ by OFSTED. The right foundation of learning and skills is vital for our young people to access good jobs and live healthier, happier and independent lives. With the well-documented rise in birth rates and proposed housing developments, we have to plan ahead so we can continue to offer good and outstanding school places for children in the county.”

Philip White, Cabinet Support Member for Learning and Employability
